Bosch Marketing and Communications Intern - June 2021 - minimum 6 months in Lake Forest, California
Bosch eBike Systems, the current market leader for pedal-assist electric bike (eBike) drivetrain components in Europe, is growing quickly in North America as more bicycle retailers sell eBikes from brands powered by Bosch. At Bosch, we create award-winning drive units, batteries and displays for almost 40 electric bicycle brands in North America including favorites like Gazelle, Canyon, Trek, Cannondale, Tern, and others.
As a Marketing and Communications Intern, you will contribute to our team through tasks and projects in social media, web content, marketing administrative and logistics duties, and special projects, all to help build Bosch brand awareness and streamline our processes in doing so.
You will work on a diverse international team with highly motivated people and may even travel occasionally to attend bike-related events and conferences. Your success will be measured by the timeliness and quality of your projects and their impact on end consumer outreach, sales, and process efficiency.
Creativity, attention to detail, and a strong independent work ethic will be key to your success in this role.
Marketing Administrative and Logistics Tasks:
Process shipping, purchasing, and new vendor setup requests and route for approvals
Assist in assembling and shipping of packets of marketing and live event materials
Research and order branded event giveaways and apparel options for live events, retailers, and other uses
Coordinate scheduling of posts on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter with social media management software
Follow through on monthly content plans for posts, and actively collaborate on development of content ideas for future posts
Coordinate with copywriters and content creators on development of content compliant with Bosch’s branding guidelines
Web Content :
Coordinate development of web content with external agency, including stories, feature pages, and brand ambassador spotlights
Oversee project management pipeline for content posted on website
Conduct reviews of existing web content to ensure information is relevant, searchable, and up-to-date
- Participate in rotation of projects of interest in others areas of eBike team, as determined by intern’s learning goals and interests
- Occasionally attend bike industry events, assisting with logistics, set-up, customer interaction, and tear-down
The ideal candidate will have previous marketing experience and be actively pursuing a Masters-level degree. 4th year undergraduate students may also be considered depending on experience and skillset.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) required.
Candidate must be self-directed, self-motivated, have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, have the ability to prioritize, and work independently or as an integral member of a team.
Candidate should be prepared to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural work environment.
The candidate be able to commute to Bosch offices in Foothill Ranch, CA for up to 4 days per week (once COVID-19/Bosch restrictions are lifted)
Pluses: Background in social media, web design, content creation, SEO and/or digital advertising, passion for cycling, outdoors, transportation and/or micromobility
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university
Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree with at least one semester completed
Minimum of overall GPA of at least 3.0
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
