Keystone Engineering is currently seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer for a Lake Charles onsite position.
Position Type: Full-time
Location: Lake Charles, LA
Work Environment/Physical Demands: Onsite facility
Travel Requirements: Regular site visits are required.
Essential Functions:
Obtain an understanding of basic instrument design, low voltage applications, construction, and operating principles.
Knowledgeable of machine monitoring, design, application, and protection systems.
Familiarize with rotodynamic principles and analysis within scope.
Conduct machinery performance examinations including compressor/pump efficiency evaluations, vibration, and hydraulic analyses.
Provide and approve design calculations, drawings, and quality control documents.
Prepare engineering specifications, data sheets, inspecting, and testing plans for required equipment.
Investigate potential equipment problems and perform modifications to aid in the project scope.
Serve as a resource to supervise, aid, and recommend solutions to maintenance groups.
Review suppliers' proposals and develop technical evaluations.
Oversee testing and pre-shipment inspections of equipment in manufacturing facilities.
Follow national codes and standards such as API, ANSI, and ASME.
Support promoting client safety efforts and protocols onsite.
Participate in plant operability and hazard reviews in regard to the rotating equipment.
Requirements:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
7+ years of experience in a refinery, petrochemical, or equivalent industrial machinery design, repair, and maintenance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated, organized, and solution advocate.
Attention to detail.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
Experience Preferred:
P.E. or EIT License.
