Job Description

W.R. Grace is hiring a Production Engineer to work at our Lake Charles, LA manufacturing site who will report to our Operations Manager. As a Production Engineer you will be responsible for providing line process operating support to ensure the achievement of our production goals as outlined below:

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots process/ production issues

  • Provides Operations Supervisor’s first line of support for solving process management issues

  • Owns and drives quality improvement projects

  • Manages & improves area operator control plans, SOPs

  • Supports Zero Energy reviews as required

  • Works with ASC to resolve discrepancies for on-time shipments

  • Supports month end closing processes and customer interactions (complaints, audits & onsite visits)

  • Supports & facilitates RCAs and training of site personnel

  • Conduct Management of Change (MOCs) Conduct Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) including GMP and PSSR and Commissioning and Startup Activities and daily plant inspections and walkthroughs

  • Conducts OIRs and incident investigations and data sourcing and analysis

  • Supports Purchasing/GRs/New Vendors/Req's

  • Redlines Engineering Drawings and Documents

  • Manages and catalogs engineering documents and drawings (P&ID, MOC, Interlock Sched, etc.)

  • Executes productivity projects

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering or another engineering discipline

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience, preferably working in a chemical or petrochemical environment
