Oracle Cloud System Solutions Engineer - West Africa in LAGOS, Nigeria

Job Description

As a Principal Solution Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging Oracle technology to address client business needs. This position involves guiding customers through comprehensive business requirements assessments, utilizing discoveries, presentations, demonstrations, and benchmarks. You will provide expert support throughout the sales cycle, particularly focusing on complex opportunities that may lead to unlimited license agreements. You will utilise your experience to build large deals by that maps to the customer 3 to 5 year technology strategy.

What you will do

  • Lead enterprise architecture level support engagements with key clients, ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Act as a technical advisor to customers, promoting the adoption of Oracle technologies aligned with their business requirements.

  • Focus on large or complex sales opportunities, devising creative solutions and delivering end-to-end solution architectures.

  • Develop and deliver compelling Oracle presentations, innovative propositions, and design solutions.

  • Take the lead in all aspects of the technical sales process, providing guidance to internal and external clients on architect solutions.

  • Contribute as both an individual leader and a team member, offering direction and mentorship to others.

  • Manage non-routine and complex tasks, applying advanced technical and business skills within your specialization.

  • Cultivate and strengthen technical customer relationships for continued success.

Responsibilities

Preferred experience

Work Experience:

  • At least 6 years of experience working as technical sales or solution architect or solution implementation or Senior system/Senior database administrator.

  • Proven experience working with high value customers in banking or telecommunications or insurance or public sector.

  • 5 years of business experience working with mission critical business application infrastructure in the banking or telecommunications or other sectors.

  • Strong knowledge of dealing with customers in the West African region.

  • Thorough knowledge of Oracle Database or other 3 rd Party databases, multi-OS environments, Hypervisors, Storage and backup technologies, engineered systems, 3 rd Party vendor infrastructure etc.

  • In-depth understanding of competitors of Oracle Cloud Systems (IBM, HP, Huawei, Cisco, Dell, AWS, Google Cloud, MS Azure).

  • Demonstrated enterprise architecture and project management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including needs analysis, positioning, business justification, and closing techniques.

  • Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication.

  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications:

  • BSc. Computer Science or IT or engineering degree or equivalent; advanced degree highly desirable.

  • TOGAF plus IT hardware vendor certifications are an added advantage.
