VCA Animal Hospitals Veterinary Technician Supervisor in Lafayette, Indiana

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support the veterinary technician team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.

  • Oversee daily workflows, ensuring that technicians are assigned appropriately for optimal care and operational efficiency.

  • Assist with training programs for new technicians and continuing education for current staff.

  • Collaborate with veterinarians, hospital managers, and other staff to coordinate patient care and client service.

  • Maintain a positive and productive work environment by promoting effective communication and resolving conflicts.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and veterinary regulations.

  • Monitor and assist in various technical duties, including patient intake, medical record management, administering treatments, preparing animals for surgery, and post-operative care.

  • Maintain and manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment.

  • Support hospital initiatives, including quality improvement projects and client education.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in various technical skills, including but not limited to venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and dental prophylaxis.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality patient care.

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Compensation

  • $ 24 - 26 /hr. Pay range is negotiable based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities and other relevant credentials. 

Schedule

  • Full-time opportunity with flexible scheduling, 4 x 10 hours.
