Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for the Large Power Systems Division at our Lafayette, IN facility. The successful candidate will have a robust background in CNC (Lathe/Mill) Machining, proficiency in multi-axis machining, and the ability to program FANUC, Siemens, or other similar controllers. Responsibilities include producing high-quality parts, ensuring quality control, maintaining a clean workspace, setting up and operating CNC and NC controlled machines, interpreting CNC programs and job instruction sheets, collaborating within a team, using lifting devices for large parts, fabricating/modifying parts, calculating dimensions/tolerances, and inspecting units for specification conformity. Overtime may be required to meet manufacturing demands, with the opportunity for advancement based on attendance and performance.
Hard Skills
CNC Lathe and Mill Machining expertise
Machine setup and operation proficiency
Experience with multi-axis CNC machining and CNC programming
Knowledge of G&M codes, tool offsets, and changes
Understanding of machining principles, blueprint reading, and geometric tolerances
Familiarity with quality data and lean manufacturing environments

Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Lafayette, Indiana.
Work Environment
The temperature-controlled manufacturing environment is split between assembly and machine shop operations. We prioritize a clean and safe workspace with a relaxed dress code. Compliance with PPE standards, including steel/composite toe shoes, earplugs, and protective glasses, is mandatory. Earplugs and glasses are provided. Strict adherence to PPE is required, with termination possible for non-compliance.
