Traveling RN Interim Clinical Manager Opportunity – Hospice Services
JOB PURPOSE:
This position would serve as an interim for clinical leadership roles, coordinating clinical services for the hospice agency and supervising the interdisciplinary team members. We are looking for an experienced clinical leader, focused on building strong teams with a positive culture, to provide the best support to those we serve. This position may be temporarily assigned to any hospice agency within the state of South Carolina.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organizes the agency in accordance with the laws and regulations pertaining to the operation of a hospice in the state where the agency is licensed.
Organizes and directs the agency’s ongoing functions; maintains liaison among the Governing Body, the group of Professional Personnel and the staff.
Establishes administrative procedures and maintains records to provide the Executive Committee, the Board of Directors, and outside agencies with current information required for operational decisions.
Facilitates system for communication among the hospice staff, hospice care team, and patients/family unites and/or legal guardians/representatives when applicable.
Implements employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive partner-company relationship and promote a high level of partner morale
Keeps supervisor informed of daily activities and issues. Proposes solutions to all issues.
Maintains an effective relationship with management staff, partners and general public.
Participates in the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures for nursing and personal care services based on generally accepted standards of practice.
Follows all company policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations and charged with reporting violations to the appropriate supervisor.
Carries out all duties with a “Commitment to Caring” attitude and in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, and philosophy.
Communicates well with patients/residents/clients and family members providing warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude to families, visitors, patients/residents/clients and responds to expressed concerns while displaying a helpful, caring demeanor. Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times.
Able to respond to change productively and handle additional projects as assigned.
Able to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this job (with or without reasonable accommodation) without posing a specific or current risk of substantial harm to the health and safety of self and others.
Assists in provision of training on hospice issues to clinical staff, patients and families, healthcare centers, nursing facilities, acute care facilities and community groups.
Performs routine chart audits to ensure timeliness and accuracy of documentation and MD orders.
Assists with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations and Joint Commission standards.
Identifies, completes and follows up on quality assurance performance improvement reports including monitoring of infections and Opportunity Occurrence Program Reports.
Communicates with Attending Physicians and Medical Director on routine basis as indicated.
Performs other administrative tasks as assigned by the Governing Body.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Participate in center/agency surveys (Licensure / JCAHO) and any subsequently required reports.
Attend and participate in continuing educational programs to keep abreast of changes in your field as well as to maintain current license/certification, as required.
Attend and participate in mandatory in-services.
Honor patients/residents’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints.
Comply with corporate compliance program.
Report job-related functions/tasks that involve occupational hazards including exposure to blood and body fluids and others as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A minimum of 3 years leadership experience is desired
Excellent understanding of Home Care regulations
Must be a Registered Nurse with strong clinical skills
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Currently licensed as an RN in the state where you will provide care
Must have current driver’s license and valid automobile liability insurance
Must have current certification in basic life support CPR
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in hospice, home care, med/surg or oncology is preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with individuals and groups.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Commitment to the Hospice concept and standards.
Skills in supervisory relationships and communication.
Satisfactory results of criminal history check, Office of the Inspector General Sanction Check, and licensure validations.
Possess knowledge of computer software for application in office settings. Must be well organized and able to set priorities. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
Has never been shown by credible evidence to have abused, neglected, sexually assaulted, exploited, or deprived any person or to have subjected any person to serious injury as a result of intentional or grossly negligent misconduct as evidenced by an oral or written statement to this effect obtained at the time of application.
