Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$33.946 - $43.802 - $53.657

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do

To develop and implement comprehensive strategies for the Foundation's Annual Giving program, including Direct Mail; Partner Annual Giving Program, Friend of the Stewardship, and Employee Giving programs. Work closely with leadership in supporting all philanthropic efforts, and to work with Foundation staff in implementing system wide best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 Years experience in fund development, preferably in a health care setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in working with volunteers.

Other Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in annual fund raising. - Required

Essential Functions

  • Communication and stewardshipLead stewardship efforts for all annual donors and work with systemwide efforts to implement best practices. Assist and coordinate all communications materials related to fund raising to assure that the materials are effective, produced on a time schedule and meet budget requirements. Handle or coordinate, with corporate communications department, all campaign releases, press conferences and other necessary media relations.

  • Community participationBecome active in the community through membership and/or participation in suitable community organizations. Serve as a public speaker on behalf of the Foundation.

  • Direct mail fundraisingWork with system direct mail staff to plan and produce patient and donor direct mail appeals. Includes identifying themes or signers and assisting with writing of the pieces.

  • Donor and patient relationsFull responsibility for FOF and Guardian Angel program. Includes patient, physician and employee departmental visits, follow up notes and appointments. Identify Friends of the Foundation (FOF) and potential Friends of the Foundation (wealth point screened and POF) who are admitted to Sharp. Make pre-hospitalization special arrangements, where appropriate. Arrange for cards, flowers, or other special acknowledgements while FOF is hospitalized. Serve as liaison between Foundation and administrative staff.

  • Employee campaign fundraisingConduct the annual employee campaign.

  • PartnersEnsure the successful implementation of the Partner giving program including the solicitation and renewal of Partner donors/prospects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to plan, organize and direct fund-raising organizational activities.

  • Must have excellent written skills and be able to write proposals to donors outlining health programs that are understandable to a non-medical audience.

  • Must be personable, articulate, diplomatic and be skilled at asking for donations.

  • Excellent oral and motivation skills required.
