What You Will Do
THIS IS A PRN POSITION.

THIS PRN POSITION WILL NOT TRANSITION TO A DIFFERENT SCHEDULE.
As an Acute Care APRN or PA with Trauma and General Surgery PRN, you will have the opportunity to provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician. We are needing you to be available for a minimum of 2 shifts with the possibility of 3 shifts a month. They will be 10-12 hour shifts, mostly day but can be rotating night and weekends for coverage. You will work closely with the Trauma Surgeons on call. Possible opportunity for CME stipend. Must live in the Austin area or surrounding area.
Provider must undersatnd that this is a true PRN position.
There will be some nights, some days, and some weekend coverage needed.
Main site of practice is Seton Medical Center, Hays, in Kyle, TX
Provider must already live in or near the Kyle, TX area
Acute Care Certification is required - at the time of application - for all NPs
Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.
Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.
Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
What You Will Need
*APRNs MUST have already obtained their acute care certification upon applying for this position
APRN - Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing .
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing .
Acute Care Certification required
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration.
- Master's degree of Nursing required
Physician Assistant - Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board.
• Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program
• Master's degree preferred
1-2 years trauma/acute care surgery experience, strongly preferred
Operating room experience, preferred
Will be required to obtain ATLS within 6 months
APRNs MUST have already obtained their acute care certification upon applying for this position
This is a PRN position, only, and will not transition to a different schedule
