Objectives of the Position

  • Understand business needs and provide best suited support on Compensation and Benefits for specific assigned Country in the APAC region.

  • Support respective countries assigned in the region by engaging with the stakeholders, from HRBPs to country C&B teams in Compensation & Benefits matters including data analysis and providing operational support.

  • Support in identifying and implementing process improvements and best practices in the C&B space to ensure smooth implementation and engagement of best practice for respective countries.

Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities

Operational Excellence

  • Responsible in preparation of data and analysis required to support any Compensation & Benefits initiatives such as performance management, salary budgeting and merit increment cycle, annual benefit renewal program and market benchmarking exercise for countries in APAC region

  • Supports in collating economic indicators, external market practices and data analysis patterns and translates into meaningful indicators for development of any C&B initiatives and proposals to maintain market competitiveness.

  • Key person for job family matching and data submission for all Compensation & Benefits relevant market surveys (for eg: Mercer Remuneration Survey) with the guidance of the Expert.

  • Responsible for renewal and implementation of Compensation & Benefits program such as insurance, Flexible Benefits and Employee Assistance Program by managing, coordinating and following up with vendors, which includes market competitiveness analysis and requirement setting.

  • Manages and coordinates with vendors in the Compensation & Benefits are for insurance enquiries, market data purchase, employee assistance program vendors.

  • Supports Country HR for in scope countries in developing communications for Employees and Manager for implementation of Compensation & Benefit programs.

  • Supports Experts in Global Compensation & Benefits projects and activities by sharing current processes and studying the impact of new programs and processes to BASF HR systems

  • Provide advise to Country HR based on existing guidelines, policies and practices BASF Corporate Rule Base, labor laws etc for reference

  • Responsible for all recurring C&B operational activities such as insurance employee movement updates, year end benefits provisioning, processing of C&B vendor related payments, job evaluation request

  • Supports and ensures any C&B tools and systems (for eg: SuccessFactors Compensation Planner, Gambit) implementation and takes into consideration the requirements and interactions with the Payroll & People Data team

  • Provides support to country HR for utilization of C&B tools and systems (for eg: SuccessFactors Bonus and Compensation Planner, Gambit)

  • Maintains and updates C&B related knowledge management documents and articles on all knowledge sharing platform for onboarding purpose and employee reference (for eg: HR4U)

  • Preparation of salary proposals for permanent transfer, hiring cases and update of C&B tools (proposal templates etc) when required.

  • Responsible for data maintenance in SAPHR or SuccessFactors for Compensation & Benefits information such as Regional Specialist Track or Global Expert Track status

  • Reviews any compensation and performance data upload for salary reviews cycles

Service Engagement

  • Daily monitoring of inquiry management for Compensation & Benefits enquiries to ensure high level of responsiveness on ticketing system.

  • Provide Compensation & Benefits inquiry support to employees via HR4U / CRM

  • Support the Analysts should there be an escalation of C&B matters that require clarification and further in- depth engagement.

  • Stay updated with C&B practices and is able to refer Country HR and Regional HR Business Partners to readily available C&B policies and practices within BASF

  • Play an active role in supporting the Expert in managing requests from Country HR and Regional HR Business Partner

  • Guides local C&B experts in access management through Gambit

Team Collaboration

  • Works autonomously within established procedures and practices; seeks guidance in the more complex aspects of the process.

  • Contribute positively to a knowledge sharing environment through generously provide guidance and sharing knowledge with others. Guides and trains junior team members.

Job Requirements

Education

Relevant tertiary qualifications: Degree with HR focus as a bonus.

Working Experience

  • With 4 years of related HR working experiences in strategic Compensation & Benefits and experience in operational C&B area as well.

  • Experience in relevant country statutory preferred

  • Working knowledge around Rewards programs and system.

Technical & Professional Knowledge

  • Demonstrates a high level of proficiency in language and culture of the supported country/location.

  • Have an acceptable understanding of HR principals and/or Employee Laws of the supported country/location.

  • Strong processing skills and analytical abilities

  • Service mindset with strong interpersonal and communications skills.

  • Functional knowledge and skills in using Microsoft application i.e. Words, Excel, Power Point.
