Purpose of Role

The Accounting Intern role consist of responsibilities surrounding a range of financial and administrative tasks. The role will focus primarily on account receivable related to retails. This may include capturing the accurate records of the retail sales and reconcile the collection of the various payment method against the revenue. He/She will need to work closely with various stakeholder like store front end teammates, internal department teammates and merchant banker to ensure the accuracy and timely remittance of fund to our bank account. This role will also ensure transparency and efficiency in all transactions.

We will prioritize candidates who can dedicate themselves to a full-time 6-month internship.

Your Impact

  • Record retail sales into the accounting system accurately and timely

  • Reconcile the credit card collection against the retail sales timely manner.

  • Work closely with retail front end teammates to resolve any discrepancy on the reconciliation of credit card transactions.

  • Participate in monthly, quarterly and year end closing activities.

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliation according to schedules.

  • Ensure AR sub-ledgers reconcile to general ledger.

  • Assist to perform the stock take variance checking and post the stock take adjustment for variances found.

  • Liaise with auditors and preparation of audit schedules.

  • Maintain proper documentation of all company receipts and corporate records for auditing purposes.

  • Prepare the write-up for the standard operating procedures related to Accounting operation.

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Preferably bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or related field preferred.

  • Meticulous, analytically independent with strong problem-solving skills

  • A good team player with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Possesses a sense of urgency with strong follow-up skills and the ability to work with tight deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with a strong focus on Excel.

Workplace Location

  • Location: Level 33, Menara AIA Sentral, No. 30, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur

  • Return To Work Designation: Hybrid work arrangement permits working from home on Mondays and Fridays, with flexibility subject to company requirements.
