Google Senior Software Engineer, Privacy Sandbox in Kraków, Poland

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.

  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

  • 3 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.

  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.

  • Experience with Chromium or web browser development.

  • Experience working on large-scale distributed systems.

The team's mission is to preserve the web and app functionality while seamlessly transitioning to a privacy-first future. This requires significant investments into both products - Android and Chrome.

The Privacy Sandbox initiative aims to create technologies that both protect people's privacy online and give companies and developers tools to build thriving digital businesses. Our team is dedicated to strengthening the Web and Android platform against tracking and fingerprinting, while also developing new privacy-preserving APIs to support personalization and measurement on the web. We are committed to collaborating with stakeholders in the industry to develop and implement viable, alternative solutions in a way that protects the privacy of users while also ensuring the continued vitality of the web.

  • Write and test product or system development code.

  • Lead the design and development of complex web compatibility tools, techniques, and mitigations to help websites adapt to evolving web privacy standards, including the adoption of new anti-covert tracking technologies.

  • Lead the design and development of the Android compatibility infrastructure to help mitigate and fix user breakages.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering their growth and development.

  • Drive the development of new web standards and best practices in collaboration with the wider web community.
