Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced C++ Software Engineer to join our newly formed scrum teams in Krakow. As a Principal Software Development Engineer building high-quality scalable software for MEP fabrication content management, you will have a direct impact on the MEP fabrication modeling workflows in Revit, working as part of a cross-functional agile team. The Autodesk Building Design team, the makers of Autodesk Revit is investing in their Engineering teams in Krakow, and these newly formed teams will collaborate with a globally dispersed wider team.

You will work with the product owner, QA, and other software engineers to develop and maintain existing software. As a Principal Engineer on the team, you will be highly involved in the software architecture, evaluating implementations, and code reviews. You will report to the Software Development Manager.

The position is based in our Krakow office, employing a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new capabilities and improve existing code.

  • Provide technical leadership and contribute to the architectural direction of the project. Apply good architectural practices including design patterns and object-oriented programming concepts.

  • Estimate and breakdown tasks for projects undertaken and ensure completion on time.

  • Ensure code quality with peer code reviews and implement unit testing.

  • Conduct research and make recommendations on tools and standards to use for engineering efforts.

  • Document and present your ideas and solutions accurately and thoroughly.

  • Communicate with the product owner, user experience designer and customers to understand requirements.

  • Collaborate with the test engineer and/or domain expert to design and apply specific, more comprehensive testing plan.

  • Lead technical efforts and coordinate with a software architect to ensure high-quality code and architecture consistency.

  • Assist and mentor junior team members.

  • Collaborate with global stakeholders on technical strategy, issue solving, and dependency coordination.

  • Contribute to processes and deliverables improvements that increase the team's effectiveness and efficiency in responding to customer and business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Architecture or related subject area.

  • 8+ years’ experience in C++ and .NET/C# programming.

  • Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative environment with colleagues around the world.

  • Excellent problem-solving, 3D modeling, computer algorithm, and reasoning skills.

  • Good teamwork spirit in a dynamic environment.

  • Experience in fast-paced product delivery and agile practices.

  • Fluent in English (written & oral) and proactive communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GIT or a similar source code revision control system.

  • Knowledge of the AEC domain, AEC related product experience.
