Position Summary

As a Business Development Executive, you are to execute Purina Petcare Malaysia's growth plans & activities in the Pet Specialty Channel (including Breeders and Online Pet Shops), delivering long term sustainable & profitable growth for both retailers and Purina Petcare Malaysia (PPM).

A day in the life of a Business Development Executive

  • Accountable & responsible for thruput sales and brand performance of their respective portfolio of customer base assigned within the Pet Specialty Channel

  • Managing Trade Spend - Responsible to ensure compliance of Trade spend within the allocated budget defined by BDM by Category and Channel Group

  • Accountable for Product Distribution & Merchandising Standards as per guidelines

  • Ensure full compliance of channel must-have-list.

  • Timely implementation of KMA & promotional activities

  • Channel planogram and merchandising standard guideline.

  • Maximize usage of POS materials and replace old ones with new ones.

  • Ensuring and monitoring of compliance of long-term space buy (As per Channel/Brand Guideline)

  • Goal Alignment through - WOR Tracking: BDE accountable to track and share weekly performance of MHL/KMA/Sell-In to BDM every Monday.

  • Winning with Customers

  • Advisory role to retailer, understand business owner needs and ensure customer intimacy.

  • Sell and negotiate buy-in to Retailer Incentive Program

  • Conduct business reviews on a quarterly basis for Top 10 customers.

  • Conduct product trainings on a regular basis for retailers and their staff.

  • Territory coverage

  • Ensure 100% coverage and call frequencies to customers, as defined by Business Development Manager

  • Responsible for customer database maintenance

  • Responsible for coverage expansion (including Breeders/Vets/Online Pet Shops), as defined by Business Development Manager.

  • Ensure Market Hygiene - Practice FEFO in outlets to ensure products are fresh/clean for sales.

What will make you successful?

  • Education: University Diploma/Degree (or equivalent) OR SPM qualification with (5 years of sales reps with experience)

  • Between 3 – 5 years in marketing or sales, and over this period has successfully delivered on KPIs.

  • Experience with Customer Management background will be an added advantage.

  • Capacity to understands all sales functions i.e. CCSD, Customer, Field

  • Had experience in managing Field Sales team.
