Strategic Technology Partnership Manager

Work Mode: Hybrid

Location: Hybrid - Kohler, WI

Opportunity

The Strategic Technology Partnership Manager is responsible for supporting K&B Category, Engineering and Industrial Design leaders to assess, negotiate and manage strategic partners for developing products and gain access to technology / IP. The role oversees strategic partnership activity between K&B and strategic partners in Advance Development and New Product Development to improve our ability to innovate, gain access to technology and accelerate new product path to market.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop business relationships at executive level with technology / innovation partners.

  • Work in close conjunction with product management, engineering, and innovation stakeholders to identify tactical and strategic gaps.

  • Attend relevant trade shows and industry events to engage with potential partners

  • Identify and grow strategic university relationships globally

  • Drive financially beneficial deals and establish strong relationships with partners.

  • Act as advisor to K&B leaders to influence strategic investments.

  • Define and own strategic objectives for partner success.

  • Optimize existing partnerships and relationships for long-term success.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional experts (Legal, Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain) to assess and manage partnerships.

  • Prepare and present strategic updates, OKRs, metrics, and related business cases.

  • Lead strategy sessions and discovery and requirements sessions with partners.

  • Support strategic partner integration implementations.

  • Support initial contacts and assessment of potential M&As

Skills/Requirements

  • A BS/BA in Engineering or a Technical discipline (mechanical, electromechanical or electrical). An MS is preferred. MBA valued.

  • 5+ years of experience owning and developing technology partnerships.

  • Proven track record in developing business relationship with partnerships.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Strong technical judgement and technical communication.

  • Clear thinking in terms of tactics vs strategy.

  • Strong business acumen and financial savviness.

  • Ability to manage rapid churn and be flexible.

  • Excellent collaboration, influence and negotiation skills. Executive presence.

  • Ability to understand and evaluate legal contracts.

  • Experience coordinating successful projects across internal and external stakeholders.

  • Must have strong planning, organizational, analytical, decision making.

  • A willingness to travel as needed to advance key relationships and win business.

  • Travel, approximately 10-25%

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The salary range for this position is $113,000 - $143,950. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
