Sr. Director, Global Facilities & Properties

Opportunity

The Sr. Director, Global Facilities & Properties oversees the strategic direction, operations, and management of Kohler Company’s hospitality and manufacturing facilities worldwide. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, deep industry knowledge, and a proven track record in managing large-scale manufacturing and hospitality facilities across international locations. The Sr. Director, Global Facilities & Properties leads a diverse team, collaborating closely with executives, to ensure that our facilities uphold the highest standards of operational excellence, safety, sustainability, and exceptional guest experiences.

Specific Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a global properties and facilities management strategy which is aligned with organizational goals, objectives, and growth initiatives.

  • Develop and lead a high performing agile team of facility and real estate managers, engineers, and support staff to ensure consistent performance, operational efficiency, and financial management.

  • Aspire to be a best-in-class facilities and property management organization.

  • Planning/Capital Projects/Construction Management

  • Oversee capital construction projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion Owns long-range planning for facility capital investment and asset preservation

  • Balances both internal project management and leveraging external firms to achieve success

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee facility budgeting, financial planning, and cost management to achieve operational efficiency and profitability goals.

  • Lead and influence operational initiatives including maintenance, security, space planning, renovations, and new construction.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness, sustainability practices, and guest satisfaction.

Financial Management

  • Manage the Global Properties and Facilities budget and allocate resources effectively to meet financial targets.

  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors and service providers to ensure competitive pricing and quality service delivery.

  • Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with local and regional regulations and industry standards related to facilities management, health, safety, and environmental sustainability.

  • Mitigate risks associated with facility operations through proactive planning and adherence to safety protocols.

  • Provide leadership in crisis management and business continuity planning for facilities.

Sustainability Initiatives

  • Drive initiatives to enhance sustainability across all facilities, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, and green building certifications.

  • Remain informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in facilities management to drive innovation and competitive advantage.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, to align facilities management strategies with overall business objectives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, HR, Finance, and IT to implement integrated solutions that support business objectives.

  • Build strong relationships with external partners, and regulatory authorities.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing and/or Hospitality Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration or related fields. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in senior management roles overseeing global facilities’ operations and/or construction management preferably in hospitality and manufacturing sectors.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills with experience leading diverse, international teams.

  • Expertise in budget management, financial analysis and contract negotiations.

  • In-depth knowledge of facility operations, maintenance best practices, and regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to innovate, problem-solve, and drive change in a dynamic environment.

  • Willingness to travel internationally required.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The salary range for this position is $206,000 - $270,350. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
