Project Leader, NPD Supply Chain

Opportunity

This Supply Chain role supports product lifecycle management for assigned product categories. This role is a key member in the NPD cross-functional operations team, ensuring we plan for success as we launch new products. The role is also a critical member of the supply chain team achieving strategic business objectives, while working across many functional areas. This role ensures the supply chain policy for product placement, lifecycle changes, master data management and product discontinuation in the end-to-end supply chain.

In this role you will work with highly complex, global supply chains, provide the analytics supporting decisions, clarifying, and mitigating risks, and provide the business and technical rationale supporting decisions for within the Product Team.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Define and communicate supply chain design and policy for specific product categories. Functioning with a category team you will apply expert-level supply chain knowledge to guide key business decisions meeting strategic business goals.

  • Work with Supply Chain, Operations and Sourcing leaders and associates to define supply chain product placement plans for component and finished goods. This includes sourcing, manufacture, distribution planning through regional and global networks, with the goal of aligning all programs to the optimal supply chain structure as defined by the required speed, flexibility, and costs.

  • Establish and oversee policy for lifecycle changes including phase-in/phase out timing, master data maintenance, disposal coordination in a manner that balances trade-offs to achieve business needs.

  • Project manage supply chain changes and support analytical requirements and project tracking. Identify cost-to-serve options and gain alignment with the business team to optimize profitability and customer delivery.

  • Manage transitions with Service Parts for on-going service support and service last-time-buy considerations. Facilitate last production with Operations and Suppliers.

  • Design and manage phase out plans of SKU and components.

  • Ensure customer transition of inventory through partnering with Supply Chain Alignment and Account Managers

  • Identify and prevent changes to materials that would negatively affect customer delivery and inventory health.

  • Gain approvals for inventory holding requirements over guidelines.

  • Analyze new material additions/releases for master data rule compliance and coordinate compliance with Purchasing and Operations.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Supply Chain or Engineering a plus.

  • 5 years of Supply Chain experience with history in product lifecycle, materials change management or engineering change control.

  • Must have strong attention to detail, organizational skills and self-motivation to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong project management skills supported by written and oral communication skills within a cross-functional team. Strong reasoning and problem solving to determine phase-in and phase-out date requirements.

  • Ability to read/understand technical documents, as well as manufacturing reports.

  • Computer skills and working knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, and SAP.

  • Product knowledge is advantageous and is required to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An understanding of the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model and its application.

  • APICS certification preferred.

The salary range for this position is $76,050 - $96,050. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
