Why You Will Love this Job: As a key member of the design team, the Project Analyst - Electrical Design, Switchgear will apply engineering best practices and predetermined designs primarily to develop and document the complete electrical design of custom paralleling switchgear projects. The Project Analyst - Electrical Design, Switchgear is responsible for creating one line, schematics, point to point wiring diagrams, customer interconnect diagrams, component layouts, and bills of material. This role is also responsible for implementing other productivity improvements for product design and the product design process. This role will actively work with manufacturing to solve problems during fabrication or during system verification. Responsibilities: * Create or modify the electrical design for paralleling switchgear. * Develop the project electrical documentation consisting of; the project one-line, the detailed AC (three-line), control (DC and circuit breaker) schematics, the component layouts, the internal point to point wiring diagrams, and the customer interconnect drawings with minimum guidance. * for electrical control systems, such as panelboards and switchgear. * Have a technical understanding of circuit design and electrical component functionality. Select project electrical components based on the project specific design requirements and company design standards. Select new parts as required and suggest new parts based on maintaining state-of-the-art awareness of relevant product technologies. * Communicate using drawings, written instructions, and verbal instructions the electrical assembly and wiring for a project. Develop all required documentation to instruct manufacturing how to install components and how project should be wired. Work with manufacturing to improve project documentation and to minimize assembly time. * Maintains state-of-the-art awareness of analysis methods, design tools, and methodologies. Implement automation and other productivity improvements for the product design and the product design process. * Receives general direction but exercises discretion as to personal work details. Plan and execute as needed to accomplish assigned individual tasks to meet expectations (cost, quality, delivery). Assumes responsibility of all assigned work. * Work as a member of a project team, maintain project schedule, attend project meetings, and keep Design Lead informed of status, and complete required project metrics and design documentation.
