ASM Global Event Manager in Knoxville, Tennessee

Through investments in growth, resources, and technology we strive to enhance the experience of our internal Team Members and to continue creating amazing live experiences for the guests that we serve.ASM Global has an excellent and immediate opening for an Event Manager with ASM Knoxville at Chilhowee Park and Exposition Center (CPEC).Job responsibilities include providing professional client services support in planning, organizing and management of events including monitoring the logistics of these events. As well as providing all event coordination tasks after events are booked through their conclusion. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervises staff and oversees all aspects of facility operations related to events.
Meets with client groups to plan and organize assigned meetings and/or events.
Coordinates activities with the various service contractors for assigned meetings and/or events.
Guides clients in preparation of events by interpreting and explaining contract provisions, policies and procedures.
Keeps clients informed as to status of deadline schedules, including but not limited to floor plan submissions, meeting room set-up specifications, insurance requirements and other relevant details.
Prepares costs estimates and monitors final billing.
Provides clear, concise, and timely communication of detailed requirements to operational departments. Assists in scheduling operational set-ups to provide equipment or services needed. Monitors and supervises set up when necessary.
Assists in training and supervising event staff.
Monitors in-house events, maintaining close contact with clients and staff to ensure successful events. Follows-up on all client requests, concerns and problems.
Attends appropriate planning, organization and other event facility meetings in support of operation.
Other duties as required.

BA degree preferred
1-2 years related experience and/or training in hospitality field

Must have attention to detail
Advanced oral and written communication skills.

Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
Excellent organizational, planning, communication and inter-personal skills.

Excellent math skills to ensure an accurate floor plans.
Demonstrate problem-solving and communication skills.

Must be able to pass and maintain PCI compliance.
Must be able to pass criminal and credit background check.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Computer Skills
Must have considerable skill in the use of personal computers and be knowledgeable in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Knowledge of VenueOps software preferred.
