  • Analyze requirements, decide on technologies, and design solutions to meet organizational needs.
  • Apply significant creativity and latitude when designing and delivering software.
  • Implement potentially large or complex systems, while ensuring high quality, security, and performance.
  • Work with multiple teams, providing a large impact across the entire organization.
  • Design and perform appropriate testing of software components. Promote patterns/approaches to remove classes of defects.
  • Maintain existing systems by adding/updating features, addressing live-site issues, improving reliability, etc.
  • Troubleshoot systems, tracking down and addressing root causes.
  • Ensures work is compliant with company policies and internal controls.
  • Stay up-to-date on engineering best practices and approaches.
  • Networks with contacts outside own area of expertise across the industry.
  • Mentors more junior colleagues, potentially providing instruction for other's day-to-day work (e.g. functioning as a team lead).
  • Provide on-call support as needed.
