Requisition Summary This position is in the Cab Structures and Interiors group and will work in a team-based environment focused on the development of designs within the cab structures and interiors systems. Design work will be focused on developing mechanical systems in support of new product development projects. In the position, the employee will have to opportunity to work with the product from the designand validation phases through production. The employee will work closely with other disciplines across the company to deliver a World Class product. Here's what you will do in this role: Lead the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems within the cab structures and interiors systemsin the Sustaining Structures and Interiors Design group Utilize Creo modeling softwareto create complex assemblies that meet both structural and aesthetic goals. Work with internal and external organizations to validate the designs. Utilize PACCAR and industry systems to manage the product creationprocess, track costs, project schedules, and support new product introductions. Work collaborativelywith multiple PACCAR divisions. Manage multiple priorities and goals simultaneously. Develop and maintain a clear understanding of plant and supplier manufacturingprocesses associated with the production ofcab structures and interiorsystems. Apply creativity to design tasks and problem solving while proposinginnovative approaches to standard work. Qualifications and Skills: BSME required; EIT certification desirable 3-5 years of industry-related background in the design and specification of heavy-duty trucks Advanced proficiency using CREO or other solid modeling software is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform and/or lead development efforts on design techniques, including Design for Six Sigma, GD&T, and specific technical competencies. Competency in the use of personal computer software, including project management tools, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Willingness to learn and make use of new engineering processes and techniques. Experience solving complex technical problems.
