Carolina Ice Company Human Resources Manager in Kinston, North Carolina
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager to lead our HR department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy. This role requires a strong understanding of organizational design, process improvement, and change management to foster a positive workplace culture and enhance employee engagement.
Duties:
- Oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes including hiring, firing, layoffs, warnings, raises, and reprimands / writeups. Minimum of 5 years of experience In the field.
- Manage recruitment and selection processes to attract top talent.
- Manage Online Employment Reviews - Often reviews are left from disgruntled help and often the good things are never mentioned by good employees. Work to bring reviews up to an acceptable level by using current employees and past when applicable.
- Design and implement employee evaluation systems to assess performance effectively.
- Facilitate conflict management and resolution strategies to maintain a harmonious work environment.
- Collaborate with management on organization design initiatives to optimize workforce efficiency.
- Lead change management efforts during organizational transitions.
- Utilize HR software systems such as Oracle, SAP, Paychex, or ADP for efficient HR operations.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance HR service delivery.
- Keep up with employee training programs annually such as forklift operation, osha safety, food safety etc. We can help with these programs.
- Work on adding and or improving employment benefits and work areas.
- Coordinate with employees and senior management to build employee schedules for production, loading, and etc. to use the company's resources in the most practical way to cut down on overtime and not burn out employees.
- Activate and Deactivate access cards to facility as employees come and go.
- Help to set up new employees devices such as company phones and company apps required for on the job use.
- Help manage and maintain cellular program with Veri son. To make sure all phones / tablets are assigned and in use and none are lost or not being used.
- Help Prep for the yearly Company Christmas party including spending the budget that is given for gift cards, trophies, plaques, awards, and etc.
Skills
- Proficiency in Oracle and SAP for HR management.
- Strong knowledge of organization design principles.
- Expertise in process improvement methodologies.
- Ability to manage change effectively within an organization.
- Skilled in employee evaluation techniques and performance management.
- Competence in conflict management strategies.
- Experience in recruiting top talent across various levels of the organization.
- Familiarity with payroll systems such as Paychex or ADP is a plus.
