Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe Temporary Massage Therapist in Kingston, Washington

*Job Summary: * Massage Therapists will consult with patients referred by PGST Health Providers, screen them for underlying conditions, and assist with selecting the appropriate types of massage that would benefit them the most.

[Duties Include:]{.underline}

  • Provide 30- to 50-minute therapeutic massages.
  • Guide patients through our service offerings and help them choose the types of massages that would benefit them most
  • Take detailed histories from patients, including information about any injuries or conditions, such as diabetes
  • Design sessions around patients' specific complaints or problem areas
  • Suggest massage schedules for recurring sessions
  • Keeping linens clean and tidy, and replacing them between sessions.
  • Sterilizing equipment and maintaining appropriate stock for items needed.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized treatment room.
  • Accompanying guests to and from treatment rooms.
  • Massage therapists must give patients a positive experience, which requires building trust between therapist and patient. Making patients feel comfortable is necessary for therapists to expand their patient base.
  • Massage therapists may give several treatments during a workday and must stay on their feet throughout massage appointments.
  • Massage therapists must be strong and able to exert pressure through various arm and hand movements when manipulating a patient's muscles.
  • Massage therapists must listen carefully to patients to understand what they want to achieve through massage sessions.
  • Massage therapists must evaluate each patient's needs and recommend the best treatment based on that person's needs

[Education and Certifications]{.underline}:

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • WA State Massage Therapist Certification
  • WA Driver's license
  • First Aid/ CPR certification within 3 months of hire
  • Naloxone training within 3 months of hire.

  • Ability to interact with others in a professional and compassionate manner, maintain confidentiality, and work well as a member of a team..

Regularly required to finger, handle, reach with hands and arms

Frequently required to walk, sit, stand.

Occasionally required to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Normal audio and visual acuity

Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing
