Description

We have a new full-time opportunity at our Cornell Creative Arts Center for a Director!

The Director of the Cornell Creative Arts Center (CCAC) will perform a variety of tasks that include strategic management, planning program development, budgeting, hiring, and staff evaluations. As well as, organizing, scheduling, promoting, implementing, and evaluating cultural arts programs and activities.

This position will also work collaboratively with other departments and staff members to research, design, and develop new programs and exhibits that will excite citizens of all ages, including those who receive support from Arc Mid-Hudson or other similar providers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting programs and activities in a variety of ways to attract a broad range of participants. Networking extensively with community groups as well as individuals who attend our programs.

• Networking with the community at-large to seek creative ways to attract people into the CCAC and to offer a wide array of programming to the people the Agency supports.

• Pursue long term programmatic partnerships to bring unique workshops and events to CCAC that increase interest, attendance and revenue.

• Provide content for arts and cultural programming including social media and Instagram postings related to the arts and creative programming at CCAC.

• Seek continual sponsorship, donations related to arts programming and creative opportunities; work as needed at CCAC fundraising events.

• Developing and maintaining a detailed budget for each sector of the Arts Center including monthly financial reporting.

• Researching and preparing grants for CCAC.

• Oversee CCAC staff and independent contractors.

• Develop and maintain ongoing independent contracts; act as the main contact and coordinator for all hired independent contractors and artists.

• Oversight and guidance for curriculum and lesson plans. Work to expand programming options and accessibility.

• Oversee, coordinate, and curate Art for Gallery Shows.

• Lead the management and work collaboratively with the Finance department with respect to the Point of Sale system - handling any registrations, refunds, and other payments so that all costs and revenue are accurately tracked;

• Maintain data tracking system of Gallery Shows.

• Oversee the maintenance of the Art Center and Ceramic studio inventory.

• Lead all team and individual meetings.

• Provide tours of space to new visitors for potential event space rentals.

• Maintain/track tenant agreements and ensure Studio rentals full

• Develop relationships with higher education institutions to grow and expand internship opportunities for all areas of CCAC.

SCHEDULE: 40/Monday through Friday/flexible days/hours)

STARTING SALARY: $ 65,000 to $ 75,000 per year

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and strong project management or business acumen.

  • Strong knoledge of reasearching and writing grants and grant process.

  • Minimum 3 years supervisory and leadership experience.

  • Strong knowledge of local arts and culture sector preferred.

  • Must be able to effectively multitask projects and concurrent deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal communication and customer services skills; interacts positively and communicates effectively with diverse personalities and all levels of personnel throughout the organization.

  • Computer and technology proficient including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook email system; Adobe Creative Suite and Sawyer a plus.

  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities a plus.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
