Our work depends on a Salesforce Architect joining our team to support Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) activities in Rockville, Maryland.

At GDIT, we foster a people-centric environment. As a Salesforce Architect supporting CMS, you will be trusted to own and deliver complex Salesforce based solutions supporting Marketplace initiatives. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Administers complex configuration, integration, and maintenance of Salesforce

  • Make system enhancements and modifications based on evolving business requirements

  • Manages data migrations between active systems

  • Ensures that Salesforce operates at all times; troubleshoots and problems solves system and/or technology issues for all areas of the program

  • Ensures data and systems are adequately safeguarded and backed up; systems operate in compliance with CMS IT Security regulations

  • Develops an understanding of strategic business needs and provides insight and recommendations to program leadership for technological solutions to meet business objectives

  • Leads and facilitates related continuous improvement initiatives and activities

  • Drives client objectives and goals to completion by leveraging strong collaborations across internal and external stakeholders

  • Works with client to provide Proof of Concept trails of new developers for evaluation, as necessary


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, Master’s degree preferred

  • 15+ years Salesforce experience; developing and administrating

  • Experience with Salesforce Development including Lightning Components, Visualforce, APEX, SOQL, and SOSL

  • Experience on the Salesforce Lightning Platform including Process Builder, Workflows, Lightning App Builder, etc

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks such as, but not limited to: SAFe, Scrum, Kanban

  • Have implemented at least one full life cycle project in Lightning and have expert level working knowledge on major Salesforce.com technologies including Lightning web components, Apex Web Services, Visualforce, Batch Apex, Queueable Apex, etc

  • Experienced in web technologies such as HTML, XML, CSS and JavaScript, WSDL

  • Experience integrating Salesforce with other applications using SOAP, REST, BULK and Streaming APIs

  • Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills Salesforce Application Architect

  • Possess Salesforce Development Lifecyle and Deployment certification

  • Possess Salesforce Certified Platform Developer 1 certification

  • Possess Salesforce Sharing and Visibility certification

  • Possess Salesforce Data Architecture and Management Designer certification

  • Possess Salesforce Platform App Builder certification

  • Possess Salesforce Administrator certification

  • Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance and must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years


  • Healthcare Service Industry or Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) experience

  • Thorough knowledge of software development through automation tools

  • Salesforce certifications in Marketing Cloud and Sales Cloud

  • Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages

  • Experience with modern web technologies such as HTML5, CSS, XML, REST, and JavaScript
