Overview

ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN (SWFLANT-2024-XXXXX):

Bowhead seeks applicants for Electronics Technician (ET) to support fleet maintenance, operations and vessel support services at Kings Bay, Georgia. The Electronics Technician will be responsible for maintaining Government furnished equipment and various watercraft associated equipment. Electronic Technician is responsible for all electronic equipment and some electrical equipment. Position is in Kings Bay; Georgia and earns an hourly rate of $30.61/hour plus H&W fringe hourly rate (currently $4.57 per hour).

Responsibilities

The ET will assist Boat Engineers with repairs and preventative maintenance and be responsible for shipboard wiring; control panels; power distribution and other electrical and electronic maintenance. Individual should be experienced in: Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) Control Panel Modules, Jet Control Modules and Power Distribution Modules and Marine Communication systems (at a minimum).

Essential functions to include:

  • Maintains electrical/electronic systems on waterborne vessels per task order specifications.

  • Responds to and corrects electrical/electronic deficiencies in assigned watercraft.

  • Assists with maintenance on all engineering, deck, firefighting and emergency equipment as assigned.

  • Comprehends complex Navy and vendor drawings, manuals and specifications of installed electrical/electronic equipment and systems to conduct troubleshooting and repair as necessary.

  • Must possess a strong desire to provide excellent customer service solutions and interact with coworkers and clients in a courteous and professional manner.

Qualifications

  • Seeking a minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Marine Electronics specializing in electrical/electronic repair in an active shipyard/shipboard environment.

  • Requires knowledge and experience of the following: Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR), Control Panel Modules, Jet Control Modules, Power Distribution Modules and Marine Communication systems.

  • Basic computer knowledge required plus experience with database software; internet software; spreadsheet software, word processing software and MS Office Suite.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; excellent written/verbal communication skills required.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds

Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
