Position Summary

The position operates the batch plant ensuring mix design and quantities are correct.

Hourly wage $20 - $25

Principle Accountabilities

  • Adheres to schedule and maintains regular attendance at work-site. Works overtime as assigned.

  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment, returns all tools after use to proper storage location, and performs routine housekeeping (i.e.: cleaning, organizing). Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Identifies unsafe working conditions and notifies supervisor.

  • Advises supervisor of any issues after daily inspections of the batch plant are completed. Performs routine maintenance on equipment.

  • Verifies all materials are in stock before production begins. Loads mix design and verifies what concrete is needed for production. Operates mixing plant to produce batches of concrete from cement, sand, aggregate, water and other ingredients.

  • Communicates with quality control to make any adjustments to mix and oversees all concrete output. Turns in all batch tickets to quality control.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

  • Ability to utilize basic tools to perform routine maintenance.

  • Basic computer skills to operate the batching computer.

  • Knowledge of batch plant procedures, mix designs, concrete curing, strength testing, concrete additives, aggregates, and understanding specifications based on production drawings.

  • Skilled with the use of tools and measurement devices.
