A Brief Overview

The Attending Psychiatrist is responsible for providing psychiatric services at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in one or more of the following environments: Crisis, Emergency, Inpatient, Outpatient, Consults, Community, and/or Outreach.The Attending Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric consultation, evaluation, and treatment to children, adolescents and their families. The Attending Psychiatrist works collaboratively with psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other mental health professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.

What you will do Provide assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and their families in a manner consistent with the policies and procedures of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Comply with the documentation requirements of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Support the policies and procedures of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Support the quality initiatives and budgetary goals set for the department. Regularly participate in clinical and administrative meetings related to the operations of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Provide supervision and teaching for the Child Psychiatry residents, general psychiatry residents, other specialties requiring psychiatry training, and medical students. Comply with scheduling and billing practices of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Support implementation of information systems to support clinical care needs, patient appointment scheduling and processing, and patient documentation. Participate in the identification and implementation of opportunities to enhance patient and family satisfaction. Participate in efforts to ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards and other applicable accreditation and regulatory standards.

Education Qualifications Doctorate Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine Required

Licenses and Certifications Board Certification - Medical Sub/Specialty - Child and Adolescent Psychiatry - within 36 months - Required Medical License - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required DEA License - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required
