FirstService Residential Public Area Attendant in Killington, Vermont

Job Overview:Â Â

The Public Area AttendantÂis responsible forcleaning projects requiring advanced training anddemonstratedskill. Inspects work performed in assigned building/property(s) andsubmitsreports to the Supervisor. Positions may be indoors tomaintainthe interior of the community, outdoors tomaintainthe exterior, or a mixture of both.Â

Your Responsibilities:Â Â

  • Vacuum all public hallways, common areas and elevators on property
  • Empty trash and recycling from common areas and restrooms
  • Clean common area and office restrooms
  • Mop tile hallways and corridors
  • Assist with cleaning of Health Club locker rooms as needed
  • Wipe down common area furniture, walls, fixtures, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness of office spaces
  • Additional projects as assigned by management
  • Performs a variety of cleaning/maintenance duties as assigned including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, shampooing, dusting, polishing, trash disposal, replacing light bulbs, window cleaning and painting as needed.ÂÂ
  • Informs Supervisor of needed supplies.Â
  • Maintains all cleaning solutions in accordancetoOSHA requirements for hazardous chemicals.ÂÂ
  • Removes trash from premises andassistsin emergency cleaning.Â
  • Responsible for setting up and breaking down tables/chairs forspecial events, club meetings, and other activities occurring in the clubhouse and outdoors.ÂÂ
  • Maintainsfriendlyand professional attitude.ÂÂ
  • Responsible formaintainingtheappropriate levelof sanitary and cleaning supplies for assigned areas.ÂÂ
  • Inspects all assigned areas daily and reports all cleaning and maintenance discrepancies toSupervisor.Â
  • Ensures that security procedures are adhered to at all times.Â
  • Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work.Â
  • Maintains working relationship with building staff.ÂÂ
  • Responsible for completing special cleaning projects on a weekly,monthlyor yearly basis as directed by supervisor.Â
  • Maintains room inspection log sheets and monthly work log sheets to track completed assignments.ÂÂ
  • Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.Â
  • Must keep all work areas neat,cleanand organized.Â
  • As applicable, cleans restrooms: Sweeps and mops floors. Refills all dispensers such as hand towels, toilet paper & hand soap. Cleans toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors & counters. Empties/removes trash. Reports any discrepancies or deficiencies to supervisor.Â

Skills & Qualifications:Â Â

  • Previouscustodial experience preferred.ÂÂ
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.ÂÂ
  • Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skillsrequired.ÂÂ
  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred.ÂÂ
  • Capable of working extended hours,to includeevenings,weekendsandholidaysas necessary.Â
  • Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so thatvarious typesof communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities, to include the exchange and receipt of information over the telephone.Â
  • Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting,carryingand moving objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs. This movement can occur throughout the day.Mustalso be able to climb several flights of stairs if necessary.Â
  • This position will alternate between working indoors in a controlled climate and with proper lighting,toanoutdoorssetting with variable climate and lighting.ÂÂ
  • Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills.Â
  • Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions,changesand delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances. For safety reasons,employeemust remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns.Â
