Hourly Rate $14.00
Hours Full-time, indicate working hours - 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Summary of Position
Overall duties and responsibilities are:
Certify all students applying for VA educational benefits to the appropriate VA Offices.
Provide student appointments to obtain necessary information to complete their file.
Document transactions and upload required documentation timely for VA certification in the students file.
Verification of student degree plans and educational transcripts.
Prepare correspondence relative to Veteran Educational Benefits.
Provide Veteran Educational Benefit information to students visiting the campus and on local high school campuses.
Verify enrollment to the Veterans Administration as requested by VA.
Work closely with essential departments on campus and other educational institutions.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Education
High school diploma or GED and one (1) of the following are required:
Minimum Required Experience
• Four years wage earning clerical experience or certification/successful completion of relevant trade school from a US regionally accredited institution of higher education with at least one year wage earning clerical experience.
Two years of experience in student services preferred. Knowledge of Veteran Educational benefits preferred. Knowledge of VA certifying software (VA-Once) and Ellucian’s Colleague system is beneficial.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong working knowledge of various software programs to include Microsoft Office (to include Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Adobe Docs.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task with minimal supervision.
Ability to be detail-oriented.
Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
Ability to learn software programs such as Colleague and VA-Once systems.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information.
