Company Job Title: Systems Administrator II

Clearance:

  • For OTC: Background check with the ability to obtain and maintain a top secret clearance is required.

  • For ATEC and ATC: Top secret clearance required.

Location: Ft. Hood, TX

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • High school diploma or GED and 7+ years’ experience OR

  • Associates degree in a directly related field and 5+ years’ experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field and 3+ years’ experience OR

  • Master’s degree in a directly related field and 1+ years’ experience

  • Must possess current Security+ (or equivalent DOD Directive 8570.01 IAT II) and at least one current Computing Environment certification (e.g., MCSE, MCSA, or MCSD).

  • For OTC: Background check with the ability to obtain and maintain a top secret clearance is required.

  • For ATEC and ATC: Top secret clearance required.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • For OTC: Relevant education must be in an IT discipline related to the assigned program area (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer or Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or Computer Forensics/Security, etc.).

  • Relevant experience with management of Microsoft technologies, like Windows Server 2012 R2 or 2016.

  • Experience with installation, configuration, applying security settings, and UNIX variants, particularly installation and configuration of Red Hat Linux.

  • Experience with Network Attached Storage and management of Microsoft database technologies, including SQL and Access.

  • Experience with installation and configuration of Windows server technologies and other government-approved server or desktop operating systems, like Windows, Unix, or Red Hat Linux.

  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint technologies, including SharePoint Designer and custom workflows, networking principles and components, Microsoft Knowledge (physical database architecture, design, database backup, recovery and disaster recovery procedures, installation, configuration of MS SQL server on Windows Server technologies, performance tuning, query optimization, client/server connectivity, database consistency checks using DBCC utilities, capacity planning, Microsoft SQL clusters, SQL DR, HA options, contingency planning, log shipping, and Always On Cluster, etc.).

  • For ATEC and ATC: Required experience in Windows and Unix systems administration, including troubleshooting, monitoring, and support, Windows event and performance monitoring, and working experience of hosted systems software platforms.

  • Experience in resolving basic and intermediate issues associated with system configuration management, resource sharing and basic networking troubleshooting, and problem identification.

  • Experience with resolving security issues, identity management, records retention, and adhering to destruction policies.

  • Experience using and writing operating system commands and scripts, managing disk configurations, maintenance of hardware and software RAID 1-N, migration, backup, recovery, and scripting languages, including Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ruby, and/or Perl.

  • Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning and bottleneck resolution, administration of Microsoft servers, building and maintaining high-availability, clustered and scalable systems, advanced web technologies, like ASP.NET, pipeline, and load balancing, etc.

  • Experience managing production environments using automated install, automated build and deployment, automated configuration management, enterprise monitoring systems, server virtualization, load balancing, web servers, and application servers.

  • Relevant education or certification must be in an IT discipline related to the assigned program area (e.g. Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer or Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or Computer Forensics/Security, etc.).

  • Must possess current Security+ (or equivalent DOD Directive 8570.1 IAT II) and at least 1 current Computing Environment certification.
