Summary of Position:

This job provides technical support of the KNCT broadcast facility

Minimum Required Education:

High School Diploma/GED required with (4) years' experience in installation and configuration of digital Sound/Audio/electronic systems or Associate Degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in Electronics and (2) years' experience in installation and configuration of digital Sound/Audio/electronic systems.

Minimum Required Experience:

Two years wage earning experience with installation, repair and configuration of broadcast audio systems required. One year Supervisor/Management experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. The candidate should be familiar with FCC rules and regulations pertaining to a broadcast facility or willing to complete training to receive the Certified Professional Broadcast Engineer certification through the station consulting coordinator within 6 months.
  2. The candidate is also required to prepare, and maintain engineering department budget.
  3. This position requires a demonstrated capability in the installation, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair of typical broadcast equipment to include: FM transmission equipment, microwave STL equipment, audio equipment and automation system.
  4. Capable of component level troubleshooting of analog and digital electronics and proficient in the use and configuration of computers and computer networks
  5. Ability to work effectively with the public, students, and broadcast professionals.
  6. A knowledge of proper electrical, broadcast engineering, and installation practices.
  7. A thorough knowledge is required of the necessary electronic test equipment and the use thereof.
  8. Experience is required in developing operational and maintenance procedures, preparation of fiscal planning (budget), development of equipment spare parts lists and inventory.
  9. Ability to organize complex engineering tasks.

Hours:

Full-time, indicate working hours - 7:30am-5:30pm Mon-Thur.7:30am-11:30am Fridays., Other - nights, weekends, holidays when needed., Temporary, include dates of employment, Other - Flexible schedule at times
