Summary of Position

Oversees the planning, direction, and management of materials management

(purchasing, inventory management, shipping & receiving, and mail & distribution), auxiliary services (food services, bookstore, planetarium, and reprographics) and KNCT -FM radio station in support of both academic and administrative operations. Manages all contracts and leases. Oversees negotiations of contracts, contract modifications and the development of proposals. Manages proactively with an entrepreneurial mind set, while navigating and respecting all State and Federal statues, as well as College policies and procedures.

Minimum Required Education

Bachelor’s degree from a nationally, regionally or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education required. Master’s degree, preferred.

Minimum Required Experience

Five years’ management experience in the area of finance, accounting, procurement or related area of business administration (with a work record that reflects increasing levels of responsibility and proven accomplishments). Three years of supervisory experience.

Experience in federal contract administration for industry preferred.Experience with managing auxiliary services preferred. Experience with Ellucian Colleague or higher education Enterprise Resource Planning Systems preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of materials management functions.

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local purchasing statues.

  • Ability to write or edit solicitations for the purchase of goods and services.

  • Ability to negotiate contracts for the purchase of goods and services.

  • Knowledge of federal contract administration and applicable federal acquisition regulation.

  • Knowledge of auxiliary services operations.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Working knowledge of financial data and budgets.

  • Demonstrated supervisory skills and the ability to provide leadership in business services planning that incorporates various institutional constituencies.

  • Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions.

  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task.

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information.

  • Ability to stay informed of federal and state laws that may impact the division.

  • Ability to draft policies and procedures as necessary, or required by law.

  • Manages Auxiliary Services using proactive measures, that ensure sustained revenue growth.

  • Ability to implement best practices in the industry to enhance operational success and team cohesion.

  • Ability to perform public speaking and presentations to the board of trustees, faculty, staff, and community as needed.

    Salary 1C/Per Salaried pay scale

    Hours Full-time, indicate working hours - M-Thur 7:30-5:30, Fr 7:30-11:30
