Diabetes Care Kilkenny

Our new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny, opening in 2024, reflects the growing demand for Abbott's global Diabetes Care products. The facility will be a centre for world-class engineering, quality, medical device manufacturing, and other science-based professionals to produce life-changing technologies, including the FreeStyle Libre 3, a system that automatically delivers real-time, up-to-the-minute glucose readings, with the smallest and thinnest wearable glucose sensor that provides unsurpassed 14-day accuracy and optional glucose alarms directly to smartphones. As a Warehouse Material Handler, in Abbott, Kilkenny you will be responsible for ensuring a high-quality Storage and Warehousing service is provided to the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Departments, including but not limited to the receipt, storage and shipment of materials and products, whilst adhering to and maintaining Abbott Quality policies and procedures and to the required service level.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• To Perform activities related to the receipt, storage, inventory control and shipment of materials.

• Responsible for maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System at the site in accordance with divisional requirements and the Quality System.

• Compliance with EHS systems, programs and procedures, being accountable for the health and safety of themselves and others by highlighting where improvements can be made.

• Routine material handling tasks related to the receipt, movement and shipment of materials and Finished goods.

• As per applicable warehouse procedures, apply status labels and maintain material segregation where required.

• Perform supplier certificate checks when required for materials accepted on receipt, and transact material in to approved stock staus.

Pick materials to support achieving manufacturing production targets and schedules whilst maintaining stock rotation in FIFO / FEFO requirements.

• Pick, prepare and dispatch materials for sub-contract or third party manufacture processing, arranging transport as necessary.

• To pick, prepare and dispatch Finished Goods for distribution, working with other team members, Unit QA and supply chain staff to ensure the timely shipment of QA released product.

• For air cargo, prepare goods and documentation in accordance with procedures for dispatch of (secure) cargo.

• Process transactions related to the receipt, issue, shipment or transfer of materials in ERP system.

• Perform regular inventory counts as per the requirements of the site PIC requirements (Physical Inventory Control Procedures), and Cycle Count procedures.

• Work with Operations Planning Team members to resolve any issues related to the receipt and approval of materials.

• Ensure that equipment is kept in a good, safe condition in terms of mechanical functionality and cleanliness. Continually maintain a high level of housekeeping. Keep all areas clean, safe and tidy, reporting any cleaning and safety issues to the Warehouse Lead.

Be proactive in recommending business and cost saving improvements in line with business excellence initiatives. Work with management and other team members to facilitate the introduction of new materials and/or processes.

• Support the development of a safe working environment and proactively identify any safety issues and report to the Warehouse Lead.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in managing the calibration system requirements in the medical / pharmaceutical industry
