As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Strategic Sourcing Specialist.

The successful candidate can expect to:

This position is for an experienced strategic sourcing, commodity management professional to support the Interiors Supply Chain across all commodities. This person will support development of sourcing strategies and initiate projects to achieve supplier cost savings and performance goals. They will be responsible for developing sourcing guidance and providing timely inputs for customer proposals, issuing, and evaluating requests for quotes, negotiating, and administering agreements to improve price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports development and execution of Supply Chain strategies focused on cost savings and performance.

  • Performs detailed analysis of historical spend data and anticipated spend to support strategic plan development for a commodity and strategic suppliers.

  • Evaluates vendors' capability, capacity, quality, reliability, and price competitiveness.

  • Analyzes price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.

  • May negotiate and administer agreements with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives.

  • Identifies potential new suppliers and conducts research on all suppliers to ensure that the organization’s standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply are met.

  • Support Business Development with materials sourcing/costing for customer proposal requests

  • Interfaces with Supply Chain leadership, Interiors Commodity and Collins GSS teams to align strategies where appropriate.

  • Responsible for overall relationship with multiple strategic suppliers across given commodities.

  • Leads sourcing process from RFQ to contract signature.

  • Leads work transition projects through strategy and source approval phases.

What you need to succeed?

Essential Criteria:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and proven prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and relevant experience or in absence of a degree, significant relevant experience.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Supply Chain , Commodity Management or Strategic Sourcing background preferred. Commodity knowledge and experience preferred in plastics/composites, electronics, and soft goods. Machining, mechanical fabrication, engineered items and raw materials knowledge a plus.

  • Prior experience working within the aerospace industry or a manufacturing environment. Thorough knowledge of Supply Chain processes; to include procurement, sourcing, supplier performance, and negotiations.

  • Knowledge and experience in Continuous Improvement processes and tools preferred.

  • Microsoft Office skills in Excel, Power Point, Project preferred.

  • SAP/JD Edwards or similar ERP system experience
