JOB REQUIREMENTS: Summary The Service Technician\'s primary function is to assemble, install, operate, troubleshoot and repair one or more HGW product lines, assemble, test and troubleshoot component modules, lead and instruct customers on the proper usage and repair. Up to 30% domestic and/or international travel time. These positions are responsible for the highest level of craftsmanship involved in the manufacturing processes of H. G. Weber. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. 1. Plan and perform a variety of assembly, testing and adjustments on machine assemblies with primary emphasis on the electro-mechanical systems. 2. Assist and guide the installation, adjustment and repair of finished equipment at customers\' location. 3. Instruct customer personnel (and co-workers) on proper operation of equipment. 4. Basic controls programming and trouble shooting of electro-mechanical systems. 5. Apply all safety practices and procedures of the trade and H. G. Weber standards. 6. Monitor erection and installation of equipment to ensure that company guidelines and tolerances have been met. 7. Service company products at customer sites; testing, troubleshooting and adjusting as needed. 8. Use various gauges, meters, and electrical testing equipment to check specifications. 9. Provide technical support to customers over the telephone, addressing and resolving questions and problems. 10. Communicate with appropriate company employees regarding product problems to facilitate problem resolution. 11. Complete all required records and documentation for customers and for the company. 12. Determine the acceptance of equipment erection. 13. Remain technically competent and keep current in new developments within the industry. 14. Service Technicians, Material Handlers, and anyone making deliveries must possess a valid driver\'s license. Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance. Assist engineers in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products, processes, or procedures. Build product subassemblies or final assemblies. Calibrate or adjust equipment to ensure quality production, using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, or ring gauges. Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications. Install new equipment. Measure and record data associated with operating equipment. Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for quality and productivity. Prepare production documents, such as standard operating procedures, manufacturing batch records, inventory reports, or productivity reports. Provide advice or training to other technicians. Provide production, progress, or changeover reports to shift supervisors. Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures. Set up and verify the functionality of safety equipment. Troubleshoot problems with equipment, devices, or products. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with technical/assembly and/or technical school degree in Electrical Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Systems. Experience or knowledge of servo technology a plus. Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, customer specifications, warranties, company standards, and operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other employees of the organization.
