Job Title: Retail Manager

Location: Tyler Industrial Supply, Ketchikan, AK

**Position Overview:

Tyler Industrial Supply is seeking an experienced and dynamic Retail Manager to oversee our retail operations in Ketchikan, AK. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent customer service abilities, and extensive knowledge in retail management. This role requires a proactive approach to managing day-to-day operations, including inventory control, sales, staff management, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

**Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Customer Service:**

  • Lead and manage the retail team to achieve sales targets and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer inquiries and complaints efficiently.
  • Implement strategies to drive sales and increase profitability.

Inventory Management:

  • Oversee inventory control procedures, including receiving freight, stocking shelves, and managing bin locations.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and prevent shrinkage.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for timely and accurate order placement and delivery.

Point of Sale (POS) Management:

  • Ensure the efficient operation of the POS system, including software updates and troubleshooting.
  • Train staff on the use of the POS system and monitor transactions for accuracy.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and make informed business decisions.

Staff Management and Training:

  • Recruit, hire, and train new employees to ensure a knowledgeable and skilled workforce.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee performance and product knowledge.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to staff.

Store Operations:

  • Maintain the overall appearance and organization of the store, including merchandising and display aesthetics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Manage store opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and reconciliation.

Order Tracking and Purchasing:

  • Track and manage customer orders from placement to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best prices and terms for products and services.
  • Monitor stock levels and make purchasing decisions to maintain optimal inventory levels.

**Qualifications:

A bachelors degree in business administration, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred.**

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail management, preferably in an industrial supply or hardware environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and retail management software.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work M-F 7 am to 5 pm and half day Saturdays when needed.
