PeaceHealth Dir Long Term Care/Nursing Home Administrator in Ketchikan, Alaska

Description

PeaceHealth is seeking a Dir Long Term Care/Nursing Home Administrator for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $68.67 – $103.01. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

This position is responsible for providing leadership and directing the day-to-day functions of the Long Term Care (LTC) facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern long term care facilities to ensure that exceptional medicine and compassionate care is delivered; continually improve service and operations to ensure that safe, reliable and high quality care and resident experiences are provided; ensure that clinical support services are coordinated; create an environment that supports caregivers and enhances growth, communication and job satisfaction.

Essential Functions

  • Works closely with the department nurse manager, VP Patient Care Services, and all leadership throughout the organization to maximize operational efficiencies and meet capital and operating budget goals. Participates in operational planning and implementation of organizational strategic plans.

  • Promotes change, facilitates redesign, and implements systems and processes to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation within all LTC programs.

  • Develops and oversees LTC facility programs and activities.

  • Develops and maintains written policies and procedures and professional standards of practice that govern the facility.

  • Implements an ongoing program to measure, assesses and improves the quality and outcomes of nursing care delivered to LTC residents.

  • Serves as a consultant for nursing to ensure practice and standards are current and that care is delivered across the continuum.

  • Provides nursing/clinical leadership on issues including patient safety, healthcare quality, emerging technology and innovation. Maintains alignment with network direction on these issues.

  • Works with nurse manager to manage, supervise, coach, mentor, and evaluate staff.

  • Develops interdisciplinary relationships with medical staff.

  • Budgets development and accountability for Long Term Care unit.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Required: Nursing or

  • Bachelor's Degree Required: Public Health Administration or

  • Bachelor's Degree Required: Business Administration or a health-related field and

  • Master's Degree Preferred: Master of Nursing or

  • Master's Degree Preferred: Business or

  • Master's Degree Preferred: Healthcare.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years Required: Progressively responsible long-term healthcare leadership experience and

  • Preferred: Experience with collective bargaining units

Credentials

  • Required: Alaska Licensed Nursing Home Administrator

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills are required, both verbal and written (Required)

  • Excellent critical thinking skills (Required)

  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner (Required)

  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Required)

  • Demonstrated leadership ability (Required)

Working Conditions

Lifting

  • Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

  • Sedentary work.

Environmental Conditions

  • Predominantly operates in an office environment.

  • Some time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.

Mental/Visual

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
