Genesis Healthcare Senior Clinical Director (SLP) (Full Time) in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania


POSITION SUMMARY: To facilitate and support the development and implementation of strategic clinical initiatives within GRS. The Senior Clinical Director works with the Clinical Operations team to provide clinical leadership of the rehabilitation staff and to ensure appropriate care delivery. This position coordinates the efforts of the Clinical Directors to support the operations team and improve quality of clinical care evidenced by sustainable clinical outcomes and customer satisfaction. Senior Clinical Directors work with regulatory and compliance teams to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, professional association as well as state practice acts and licensure laws.


Includes, but not limited to:

  1. Analyzes clinical, operational and financial data of area, region, and organization.

  2. Develops clinical strategic action plan to improve clinical practice that is supported by improved clinical outcomes and employee and customer satisfaction. Works in collaboration with Sr. VP of Clinical Operations and Regional VP of Operations.

  3. Works with COADs, RVPCOs and Clinical Directors (CDs) to develop strategy that consistently identifies opportunities for improvement in clinical practice, customer service and compliance.

  4. Develops and coordinates clinical resources within the organization.

  5. Provides oversight of all aspects of CDs performance including hiring, orientation, performance management and professional development.

  6. Participates in the development of quality improvement programs based on analysis of clinical outcomes, department, area, region and company clinical performance, and customer satisfaction.

  7. Supports and participates in the development, implementation, and education related to organizations clinical initiatives.

  8. Researches information regarding regulations, reimbursement and practice/licensure throughout GRS. Facilitates education for CDs, COADs, and DORs.

  9. Provides clinical representation of GRS at GRS operations meetings, GHC Regional Clinical Meetings and external contracts and their leadership teams.

  10. Assumes responsibility for, and participates in, corporate integrity investigations and quality audits in conjunction with the Compliance department and other departments as necessary.

  11. Promotes GRS clinical difference by partnering with business development, recruitment and consulting services in creation of strategic clinical initiatives that will position GRS as a leader in the industry.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. The Sr. Clinical Director will possess, at a minimum, a bachelor's degree in physical therapy 2. The Sr. Clinical Director must be licensed/certified/registered as required in the states in which he/she practices, and must be certified or registered by the appropriate national board. 3. The Sr. Clinical Director will have a minimum of 7 years experience practicing in an adult and/or geriatric clinical setting, including 5 years of management/supervisory experience. 4. A record of affiliation and active participation in geriatric-related professional/educational activities is preferred. 5. The Sr. Clinical Director will have at least 5 years' experience in managing rehabilitation professionals. 6. The Sr. Clinical Director will be a member of his/her professional organization. 7. Candidate must currently hold Clinical Director position with GRS.
