Amentum Logistics Specialist in Kennedy Space Center, Florida

DETERMINING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Under general supervision, responsible for all activities relating to receiving, storing, issuing, ordering, inventorying, kitting, fueling, picking up and the delivery of government and company owned materials and equipment.

Interface, process and expedite supply actions with applicable departments, government agencies and/or other tenant contractors. Responsible for all activities relating to the physical inventory of government and contractor owned personal property. Plan, document, schedule and perform the annual cyclic sample inventory. Prepare any reports necessary and submit to appropriate parties for approval or adjustment. Select lots of 200-line items for inventory each month. Research transaction records of any discrepant items to disclose any posting errors and adjust as necessary. Plan, schedule and conduct periodic wall to wall inventory of materials and equipment assigned to the excess custodian account. Responsible for all activities relating to support analysis in the various logistics functions including providing real time support, excess analysis, transfer of items to other contractors, and identifying spare parts provisioning needs. Research catalogs, drawings, stock indexes and internal records for requested items. Prepare necessary procurement documentation, charts, files, reports, etc. Operate computer equipment, as required, to obtain data and/or input data.

Operate vehicles and material handling equipment to facilitate the safe loading, unloading and transportation of furniture, materials and equipment. Perform any work assigned to the employees in this classification. Perform work in other classifications when incidental but necessary to accomplish work assignment.

Performs work in compliance with Federal, State, local, NASA and Air Force laws and regulations and requirements and KSC/CCAFS relating to the business of the section, working within the limits of established policy.

ASSOCIATED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

Identifies spares within the Computerized Maintenance Management System that are no longer required and coordinates spare excess/deletion.

Performs continuing analysis on critical systems and equipment and prepares documentation for release through appropriate documentation control systems.

Performs spare parts analysis on system modification and change outs to assure documentation update to system and equipment configurations.

Prepares equipment and material specifications and evaluates vendor data, quotations, and work progress when applicable.

Establishes max/min levels and bench stock requirements.

May assist in the inspection of facilities and support systems to ensure that contractual responsibilities are properly fulfilled.

Initiates engineering support requests and provides technical operations guidance through the design process.

  1. Coordinates and establishes realistic stock level to ensure cost effectiveness of parts and supplies required to sustain maintenance responsibilities.

  2. Maintain logs and record, as required.

  3. Performs other job-related duties as required.

  4. Maintain all inventory data and report files

  5. Contact other organizations and customer representatives to coordinate inventory activities.

  6. Initiate and process inventory records in accordance with established procedures.

  7. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness and take necessary action to correct inventory record deficiencies.

  8. Prepare various status reports to maintain inventory accuracy rate, number of line items adjusted and net variance history and report information.

  9. Maintain technical data and any other documentation performance of all tasks.

  10. Report all variances to management.

  11. Maintain logs and record, as required.

  12. Refuel vehicles and stationary equipment. When refueling, check water, oil, battery and lubricate, as required.

  13. Use ropes, slings, cables, tarps, covers, and other equipment to secure and protect loads.

  14. Make proper tie-in with other shifts, as necessary, and maintain written logs.

  15. Arrange for local purchase and pick-up of items not available through normal channels to meet schedules.

  16. Investigate delays and recommend action to management.

  17. Inform management of any developments affecting the proper storing, handling and transporting of equipment and material items.

  18. Set up and dis-assemble bins, racks, and storage areas, when practical.

  19. Compare quantities and identification of items received with applicable documentation and adjust discrepancies according to established procedures.

  20. Perform inventories, maintain stock records, as required, and resolve customer service problems.

  21. Perform any other related and/or associate duties, as required by management.

  22. Possess and maintain certifications, licenses and permits for performance of assigned tasks.

This classification may include managing hazardous materials or other environmental responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High school diploma or G.E.D.

Experience:

Three (3) years working in either logistics/inventory management, warehousing, receiving, property management, transportation and/or other related functions.

Training/Skills:

Possess good organizational and communication skills

Receive direction and pay close attention to detail

Ability to work with computers and Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license

Must possess forklift certifications for forklifts up to and including 30K, when assigned to areas requiring use of a forklift.

May be required to possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) with fuel Tanker Endorsement and Hazardous Endorsement, when assigned to Delivery.

Physical Requirements:

Lift, push, pull and move objects up to 50lbs.

Regularly required to use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

Stand, sit, climb, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
