SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees patients referred to Doctor for care. In addition, if applicable, shall provide oversight to Medical Students and other Student Groups seeking education in a clinic environment at Practice. Coordinates care and services of patients including, where medically appropriate, referrals to physician or other medical specialists. Supervises physician extenders.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF PHYSICIAN:

  1. Doctor shall strive to maintain accepted standards of practice in accordance with the responsibilities conferred by the State, profession and society.

  2. Doctor recognizes his/her competencies and limits his/her practice to those situations that are consistent with those competencies.

  3. Doctor shall strive to provide care consistent with established practice guidelines.

  4. Doctor shall be responsible for development of a patient treatment plan which is readily available for review in the chart and which takes into account the entirety of the patient as well as utilization of appropriate consultation or referral.

  5. Doctor shall be responsible for arranging appropriate follow-up care when Doctor is not readily available to render such care.

  6. Doctor shall be responsible for promoting patient awareness of the nature of patient's illness, condition, the treatment proposal or its alternatives with reasonable explanations of expected outcomes, potential complications and length of recovery.

  7. Doctor shall be responsible for the development of educational programs or materials which will enhance patient understanding of care, directives or procedures.

  8. Doctor shall comply with all Federal and New York State laws, rules and regulations and other Regulatory or Accrediting guidelines.

  9. Doctor shall adhere to office schedules, and shall assume initiative to aid emergency cases promptly so as to ensure timely care.

  10. Doctor shall be responsible for reviewing schedules on a weekly basis to facilitate scheduling of patients in an appropriate manner.

  11. Doctor shall participate in System/Practice-sponsored or approved activities to promote public health, including, but not limited to, speaking at private and public forums on topics within Doctor's medical expertise.

  12. Doctor shall participate in call coverage as scheduled with other attending physicians in the Practice.

  13. Doctor shall participate in Teladoc, telemedicine, E-visits and virtual visits.

  14. Doctor shall perform other duties as mutually agreed to by the parties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Doctor shall have graduated from an Accredited School of Medicine with either a Medical Doctor (M.D.) or a Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree.

• Doctor shall be licensed and registered as a physician in New York State.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Doctor shall have knowledge of and shall comply with Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services promulgated by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops.

• Doctor shall have knowledge of and shall comply with the Code of Ethics of the American Medical Association.

• Doctor shall supervise dedicated patient ancillary staff while conducting patient care on behalf of Practice.

• Doctor shall promote the overall best interests of the Practice and its patients.
