Kenaitze Indian Tribe Youth Services Clinician in Kenai, Alaska

Job Summary

The Youth Services Clinician is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of clinical services (to include intake assessments, development of treatment plans, individual, group and family therapy, and case management) to severely emotionally disturbed un'ina and their families in the Youth Services program. The Youth Services Clinician provides clinical supervision to Case Managers, overseeing the provision and coordination of rehabilitative services to un'ina assigned to the program, and primarily works within the school and community settings.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in providing professional development to program staff and support the Youth Services Program Manager in program development
  • Work collaboratively in a team setting with co-workers, outside professionals, and area agencies, maintaining professional and respectful relationships
  • Maintain timely and accurate records of program-related information and ensure compliance with productivity standards
  • Attend all program and KIT staff meetings and trainings
  • Provide regular direct clinical supervision to Youth Services Case Managers and Individual Skill Providers
  • Conduct behavioral health and integrated assessments for un'ina referred to the program and develop, implement, and maintain un'ina treatment plans
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy, as well as case management services, to un'ina in the program
  • Facilitate and/or participate in staffing and other treatment team meetings, ensuring timely documentation and requests for Service Authorizations
  • Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations and provide therapeutic consultation services to other KIT programs as directed
  • Ensure services are provided in accordance with relevant external or internal requirements, including legislation, licensure, certification, professional standards, and on-the-job training requirements

Qualifications

Education

  • Masters degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field required

Experience

  • Experience providing direct services and/or education to children and/or families required
  • One (1) year post-master's experience providing behavioral health services including experience with youth and families
  • One (1) year experience in a supervisory role required

License/Certification

  • Must have a valid Alaska State driver's license and must remain insurable under the Tribe's policy, or obtain within 90 days of hire, or, with approval of the hiring manager, sign a *Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in lieu of having a driver's license to perform the required duties of the position (If Applicable)

Special Skills

  • Proficiency in empirically validated therapeutic approaches and adherence to HIPAA and 42 CFR, Part 2 regulations
  • Experience and willingness to work with diverse clients in various settings (clinic, school, home, community)
  • Ability to provide community education, outreach, and collaborate effectively with agencies and professionals
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral), including leadership, advocacy, and conflict resolution abilities
  • Flexibility in work hours, computer literacy, and ability to meet physical requirements (lifting, background check, drug screen)

Preferred

  • Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities

This position is a Covered Position subject to all requirements of the Alaska Barrier Crimes Act (ABCA) and to the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, (ICPA). ABCA and ICPA requirements apply and must be complied with at all times in order to remain in the position.
