Position Summary

* This is an hybrid position. You need to be based in Fellbach, or Kempten (Germany), or Loveland (Colorado, USA) *

A successful Global Product Manager (GPM) is a domain expert who is customer focused, action oriented, has a strong organizational agility and leads by influence to identify, develop, and implement product growth initiatives, including new products and solutions. The GPM is a key strategic position within the Marketing team to deliver product innovation, develop and implement effective portfolio strategies, and position our products for leadership in their verticals. The GPM creates and drives product line strategies by leading and owning the assigned vertical roadmap, supporting new product development as a product owner through all tollgates (TG-0 to TG-6), and commercializing new products and solutions serving Meteorology applications and customers. This role requires developing and maintaining a deep understanding of customer problems, market dynamics, and competitive products. Additionally, this role will ensure alignment with the rest of the vertical team, the broader Marketing, Sales, Service, R&D, and Operations teams.

This position may also assume responsibility for cross-functional company and/or Marketing-wide initiatives and meetings as required.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for Meteorology orders and revenue for strategic and innovation initiatives that drive growth in market share, including:

  • Lead annual Product Line Analysis to understand product performance and profitability.

  • Support the annual commercial planning process and other cross-functional initiatives.

  • Lead new product development projects and commercializing new products.

  • Understand and leverage the relevant Danaher Business System (DBS), including but not limited to: Problem Solving, Daily Management, Launch Excellence, Customer Segmentation, VoC.

  • Own product line 5-year product roadmap and commercialization of new products and solutions for Meteorology segments to deliver breakthrough innovation and market share gains, by:

  • Develop product line roadmaps identifying existing product enhancements, new product developments and Open Innovation (OI) opportunities to expand share in the Meteorology segment.

  • Identify new product development projects that align with the corporate strategy, innovation targets, and balances risk for the business.

  • Lead commercial activities across all product development phases (TG-0 to TG-6)

  • Lead go-to-market planning and product launch commercial activities in partnership with Sales, Service, and Marketing, applying Launch Excellence standard work and best practices.

  • Lead Voice of Customer (VoC), market, and competitive research, including qualitative / quantitative surveys and interviews, desk research, and hands-on / observations, to:

  • Gain a deep and up-to-date understanding of the meteorology applications and associated customer requirements.

  • Reveal and prioritize unmet customer needs.

  • Develop product market segmentation.

  • Build new business cases.

  • Solidify new product concepts.

  • Conduct competitive product and product line analysis (including price and performance).

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Applied Sciences, Business or Engineering, MBA or other Marketing advanced degree desired.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in portfolio management, product innovation, and product commercialization

  • Able to travel up to 25%. Hold a driver's license.

  • Fluent in English

  • Live in any of the assigned locations (Fellbach, Kempten (Germany), or Loveland (Colorado, USA))
