"Job#: 2017780 Job Description: Apex Systems is looking for a Network Security Engineer for a local Kansas City client. This candidate can sit remote in the United States or be local to the Kansas City area. The preference would be for the candidate to sit in Kansas City and we willing to go onsite a few times a month.Responsibilities: Help the team to protect the global organizations networks and systems. Need to be able to understand traditional networks as well as cloud protections. The ideal candidate would work with many different teams to shape network segmentation strategies to fight against cyber security incidents. Experience with Azure is highly required. The ideal candidate would have experience with network security groups, web application firewalls, network segmentation, and Palo Alto. Strong understanding of server and network architectures, including security best practices. Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.) for automation of security tasks. Familiarity with various frameworks like ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, etc. Candidate needs to be a self-starter with great communication skills and able to work with various teams. Candidates will have the opportunity to move up within the organization if that is something they are interested in.
