This position will be located in Kansas City, MO
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop strong understanding of the business, build and maintain a positive relationship across departments
Lead data and analytics team to efficiently and effectively undertake multifaceted data challenges, and mentor team members
Ability to translate strategic requirements into a usable enterprise information architecture which may include an enterprise data model, common business vocabulary, taxonomies to be used to guide enterprise solution development, and achieve consistency of information assets across the application portfolio
Develop and document EIM data models (Conceptual, Logical and Physical) to facilitate efficient and effective use of data
Hands-on experience with data virtualization, architecting data models, ETL, and configuring semantic layers
Provide technical guidance and a unified strategy to multiple distributed report development teams across the organization
Manage end-user facing ticketing system, along with the prioritization and assignment of work for the team
Build and maintain processes to provide seamless access to data and insights
Collaborate with information architecture team to align data management and analytics strategy
Work with data governance team to develop dashboard catalog, data access standards and security compliance
Engage with IT to assess analytics platform performance, tooling and infrastructure needs
You Must Have:
A bachelor’s degree or 6 years of equivalent experience
8+ years in analytics, data management, business intelligence field, that includes experience in developing and/or architecting BI and analytics solution in multiple tools and technologies
3+ years in direct people management of technical resources
Strong quantitative skills including expert proficiency with SQL, working with large data sets, data modeling, data architecture and transformation, and an ability to design and lead with best practices
Experience in data virtualization and semantic data models
Good understanding of various data solution approaches like BI dashboards, self-service analytics, API, interim/long-term database applications, advanced analytics/ML etc
Ability to hire right talent, develop and motivate employees in a fast paced, integrated team environment
Project or product management experience with proven track record of delivering results on-time within scope, budget and quality
Technical and business acumen to interface with all levels and disciplines within the organization
Sound knowledge of data virtualization, semantic models, data warehouse and ETL concepts
Strong oral and written communication skills for collaboration with diverse, cross-functional teams
US citizenship in order to obtain US Dept. of Energy ""Q"" level security clearance
MBA or quantitative graduate degree in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Information Systems or related field
Certification in BI and analytics tools
Hands-on experience with BI tools MicroStrategy and Tableau
Experience in developing and implementing data quality and data governance standards
Experience working in sensitive/classified data environments
Experience working with a US government contractor
Working knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, program management, and/or financial data operations
Strong organizational skills: managing multiple complex initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
