Assistant Professor - Psychologist

Job Description Summary:

Position is for a licensed psychologist functioning in the clinical setting at a teaching institution. Psychologist will be responsible for assessment, diagnosis and treatment of young children with developmental disabilities including autism health disorders, spectrum disorder and possibly other childhood mental health disorders.

Required Qualifications

Education:

• PhD, licensed psychologist (LP).
• Must have current license from the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB).

Work Experience:

• Must have training, experience and expertise in conducting diagnostic evaluations as well as behavior therapy for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities and/or childhood mental health disorders.
• Previous experience participating in interdisciplinary team diagnostic evaluations.
• Experience collaborating with families of children with disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Work Experience:

• Experience with research and teaching at a medical institution in the developmental pediatrics field.

Skills

• Strong professional, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills as evidence in work history and application process.
• Ability and skills to provide teaching within the clinical setting for graduate level learners from a variety of disciplines including medical students and pediatric residents.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.

Job Duties Outlined

• Primary responsibilities are clinical.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations as well as behavior therapy for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities and/or childhood mental health disorders.
• Teaching within the clinical setting for graduate level learners from a variety of disciplines including medical students and pediatric residents.
• Participating in interdisciplinary team diagnostic evaluations.
