About the Role

We are seeking a Practice Nursing Supervisor to join our Cancer Center team at Bronson Battle Creek! This individual should be skilled in leadership and staff management, verbal and written communication, and oncology specific practices.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
  • At least two years of clinical experience required.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing with the State of Michigan required.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or other relevant field preferred.
  • Additional clinical or professional credentials or licensure may be required depending on the area of responsibility. Oncology-specific credentials/certification

Responsibilities

  • Conducts performance reviews.
  • Manages and maintains clinic schedules.
  • Responsible for day-to-day management of clinic operations.
  • Scheduling of staff.
  • Cancer Center Nursing Supervisor will participate in multidisciplinary tumor conferences and helps ensure that tumor conferences run effectively in cooperation with other program staff.
  • Facilitates customer service duties including addressing patient complaints.
  • Oversees the new patient referral process providing clinical judgement when necessary.
  • Able to perform clinic RN duties when necessary.
  • Cancer Center Nursing Supervisor will participate in cross training to provide supervision and serve as a resource for the Infusion Room when necessary.
  • Responsible for day to day operations / coordination of the Multidisciplinary Clinic.
  • Responsible for practice/area of responsibility collaboration, development, and review of departmental policies/procedures/standard
  • Develops and maintains team involvement with the Bronson Management System.
  • Participates in policy formulation for area of responsibility and assists with policy formation for the overall program.
  • Develops and administers procedures necessary to implement approved policies and provides the overall direction needed to ensure efficient and effective services.
  • Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing to deliver exceptional and safe patient care
  • Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care in area.
  • Regularly reviews care plans for patients to determine their effectiveness in meeting goals for care and treatment including: adherence to hospital and unit policies and procedures, conformance with nursing or other clinical standards, ensuring patient care staff are working within their legal scope of service, providing culturally competent resources and education for multicultural patients and families, and includes appropriate corrective actions to correct or enhance care plans when necessary.
  • Regularly reviews work in progress to ensure all treatment, medications, and diagnostic tests ordered by physicians or other providers are promptly implemented and properly recorded, and the staff performance conforms to established standards and guidelines.
  • Advocates on behalf of patients and family, ensuring fair, equitable, and ethical care.
  • Recruits, selects, and coaches personnel to develop high-performing teams.
  • Maintains a safe environment in accordance with clinical standards, hospital policies, and safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
