Ensures that company and/or supplier quality control system of measures and procedures meet reliability standards. Performs a wide variety of complex quality audits, including in‐process, out‐of‐box, product, system, statistical process control (SPC), etc. Documents and reports audit results.

Essential Functions:

  1. Prepares statistical audit reports reflecting quality performance and corrective action by analyzing data collected from audits performed.

  2. Ensures corrective action is taken by following up with suppliers (or other audited parties) and substantiates findings with related documentation or evidence.

  3. Maintains quality history and cost records by gathering and organizing data. May be responsible for methods and/or database systems to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of information and presentation of data.

  4. Coordinates and conducts source inspection activities communicating effectively about quality requirements, schedules, and status.

  5. Assesses quality requirements by assuring all applicable procedures and specifications are followed. Records inspection and test results, compares results with specifications, and writes reports used in correcting defects and/or improving processes.

  6. Acts as a liaison between quality function and customer/supplier quality representatives by gathering and providing information; and coordinating meetings.

  7. Provides information to leadership by reporting nonconformance, observations, trends, and quality‐related concerns.

  8. Analyzes proposed changes in methods and materials and contributes to continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production activities. Recommends cost reduction opportunities and may be assigned to special projects.

  9. May lead team audit initiatives and facilitate training based on audit findings. May conduct programs designed to improve quality performance and/or implement quality measures.

  10. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.

  11. Supports the team by accomplishing related results as needed. Work assignments may include cross‐functional or project team responsibilities

    Job duties and nature of assignment

  • Review of nonconforming products:

  • Perform preliminary review (PRB)

  • Rework, Scrap, RTV, Send to MRB, No Defect

  • Coordinate movement of nonconforming product to appropriate departments

    Coordination of Purges:

  • Work with planning and QAE to identify, contain, and disposition parts

  • Initiate and disposition DISCs

  • Communicate status to Quality and Operations

    Scrap Management:

  • Coordinate movement of parts to scrap

  • Physical scrap of parts

  • Generate scrap certifications as needed

  • Monitor and trend internal scrap metrics

    Parts Database and Purchase Decision Request Review

  • Maintain quality requirements (revision, commodity code, etc.) within the Parts Database

  • Review and approve quality requirements within the Purchase Decision Request Database

    Education and Experience

    Minimum High School Diploma. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through five or more of directly related experience (min 2 years' experience in manufacturing environment) ; may have a bachelor’s degree in related field and no prior experience.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Knowledge of and understanding of the quality audit process, manufacturing processes, and techniques. Knowledge of a wide variety of inspection equipment and methods. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, processes, and standards to be able to disposition nonconforming products. Ability to audit product assembly processes and manufacturing procedures and provide recommendations for improvement. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. May require ability to use standard business software applications and/or specialized data analysis, or database tools.
