Ascension Health Group Therapist in Kalamazoo, Michigan

This position will focus on group therapy. We are seeking candidates who have a background working in this capacity as an LLMSW or LLPC.

What You Will Do

Develop and implement activity therapy treatment plans.

  • Conduct patient assessments and establishes recreational/leisure therapy treatment goals.

  • Evaluateseach patient's progress and the effectiveness of recreational/leisure therapy interventions.

  • Coordinate therapeutic recreational/leisure activities for both large and small groups. Observe patient response and encourages socialization.

  • Provide patient with information regarding resources and therapeutic recreational/leisure activities in the community.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

  • Therapist specializing in Recreation credentialed from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification preferred.

  • MSW, LMSW, LLPC, LPC preferred.

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.

  • Bachelor's or Masters Degree highly preferred.
