Alternate Quality Control Manager- Kaiserslautern

IDS is looking for a Quality Control Manager (AQCM) to support the “Total Maintenance Contract for the Kaiserslautern Military Community.” The AQCM is responsible for ensuring the quality of the products and processes for the contract, comply with the client needs, set standards, and or statutory requirements.The AQCM shall perform quality control to ensure work and GFEBS entry is performed as specified in this PWS. The AQCM shall update GFEBS maintenance orders to reflect when the Contractor performed a quality control and if it was favorable or not. The AQCM shall ensure all supporting documentation is reported and uploaded to Government’s shared drive and comply with the craftsmanship and material quality as specified in this PWS. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and monitor material specifications and quality standards, workflow, processes, etc. and recommend adjustments if needed in order to comply with the company policies, client and statutory requirements.

  • Conduct and coordinate regular factory inspections, making sure also that work, products and documentations are prepared prior.

  • Address quality issues on an immediate basis and coordinate with concerned personnel and discuss the measures to be taken to minimize quality risk.

  • Prepare and review all inspection reports for compliance.

  • Assign tasks, monitor, train, and evaluate workers in the Quality Department.

  • Complete quality control factory instructions and coordinate their closure.

  • Prepare and/or issue non-conformance reports.

  • Review work procedures and method statements for compliance.

  • Regular test of products to verify the functionality and quality.

  • Receive returned goods, review, report the reasons for the return, identify the corrective measures, if any and maintain complete records.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School degree, or Foreign Country Equivalent.

  • Documented five (5) years of experience in QC Management and Quality control in engineering work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to implement and evaluate quality control functions, and relay any pertinent information in writing in a way that employee understands requirements Proficiency with MS Office systems. 

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • English and German at level 4 proficiency: At this level an employee is required to possess a high degree of proficiency in both written and spoken English, including the ability to translate the host country language into precise and correct English, and English into the applicable foreign language. On occasion, an employee at this level might be expected to act as an interpreter in situations where considerable importance attaches to proper word meaning.
